Go watch history unfolding. What we've seen in recent weeks is a mere 17 days of peaceful protest (sometimes met with less peaceful response) which may just result in a change in government 30 years in the making.
Human Rights Watch reports that 302 people have lost their lives. Considering the, lets be honest, civil war that could have erupted (and may yet, we don't know) that's certainly less than I would have expected.
Even if he doesn't step down immediately, to end 30 years of false elections is AMAZING and something that the people of Egypt should be proud of. And, likewise, it is something we should be proud of them for.
Go watch it live http://www.youtube.com/aljazeeraenglish.
You will only regret missing it.
